The day trip to the Jballa country in the Rif mountains allows you to enjoy the scenic sights, to get in touch with the local population, and to experience the delicious local dishes.
The drive to Bouhachem Natural Park in the montains is only around one hour and half and it’s a worth one due to the gorgeous views all the way to the spot.
Upon arrival to the Park, you will have the opportunity to try a hike of about one hour ( other hikes with different timing are available upon your request) inside a forest listed as an Ecologic & Biologic Site of great interest, and consisting of a huge forest of Cork, holm, Kermes and Portuguese oak and it’s home to a community of the Barbary monkey (the Macaque).
After the hike you’ll head up to the village overlooking the mountains, where a local family will host you inside their typical house to have a nice lunch.
The lunch consists of Moroccan Salads, Bissara ( sort of dried pureed broad beans soup), Lam, beef or goat meat Tajine with prunes, Chicken Tajine, and Moroccan tea. (other meals are available upon request).
