Day trip to Jeballa country

The Jballa country is full of attractions, and this day trip allows you to enjoy the scenic sights, to get in touch with the local population, and to experience the delicious local dishes. The drive to the Jballa Country in the Rif mountains is only around one hour and half and it’s a worth one due to the gorgeous views all the way to the spot. In this area a Natural Park has been created in order to protect the fauna and flora, to preserve the cultural heritage and to promote the local development by encouraging the local people to be real actors in the economy of their society. Upon arrival to the Park, you will have the opportunity to try a hike of about one hour ( other hikes with different timing are available upon your request) inside a forest listed as an Ecologic & Biologic Site of great interest, and consisting of a huge forest of Cork oak, holm oak,  Portuguese oak and it’s home to a community of the Barbary monkey (the Macaque), After the hike you’ll head up to the village overlooking the mountains, where a local family will host you inside their typical house to have a nice lunch. The lunch consists of Moroccan Salads, Bissara ( sort of dried pureed broad beans soup), Lam, beef or goat meat Tajine with prunes, Chicken Tajine, (other meals are available upon request). After lunch you you’ll get some Moroccan tea while enjoying splendid view to a limestone range of mountains. Your trip will also include a visit to the village of Moulay Abdesslam a local Soufi saint so venerated by all Jeballa tribes, His tomb is found in Mount Al Alam, from where you can watch Tetouan, Tangier, Assilah & Chefchaouen Trip back to Tangier
