Detailed itinerary
Your Spain to Tangier Day Trip will include a nice drive through the Ville Nouvelle so that you can learn about the European Architectures. Tangier was, unlike other parts of Morocco, appointed as an International Zone being administered by 8 powers.
You’ll learn how cosmopolitan Tangier is where Muslims, Christians & Jews have been living in peaceful coexistence.
After that, you’ll drive through the California District with its fancy villas, mansions, palaces including the Royal Palace.
We’ll drive you west from Tangier through a spongy forest of eucalyptus, mimosa, cypress and umbrella pine along a winding, sea-sprayed road. The route, lined by grass as soft as carpet and as luminous as the Rif mountains.
You’ll have a short break for taking pictures in the Perdicaris Park. This wealthy person had lived in Tangier from the late 19th to beginning of the 20th century.
Continue on the track to the promontory Cap Spartel, nestling against an ancient cliff. On the northwest point of mainland Africa, looking out onto the coast of Spain, is the light-house.
When the Greek sailors approached the Strait of Gibraltar they discovered the vastness of the Atlantic, and thought Tangier was the end of the world.
The views from here are stunning. At this point, the Atlantic Ocean & the Mediterranean both converge.
Drive back to the Kasbah District, which is built uphill overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar, the Iberian Peninsula & the Medina.
You’ll meander around the intricate alleyways leading us to the Kasbah’s main square.
Your guide will shed light on the Islamic religion and how the architecture is very symbolic in every building.
Now, it’s time to explore the vibrant Medina with its bustling cafes and shops. You’ll get inspired by the preserved heritage of the locals including the communal oven or bakery, Mosques and Hammams.
The Souks are divided into sections according to specialty selling spices, antiques, vegetables, olives, leather, chandeliers and much more.
By the end of this Spain to Tangier Day Trip, Spain we’ll escort you back to the port to get your ferry; otherwise, we can get you to your accommodation in Tangier.

Day Tour to Tangier from Spain Reviews
Our group of 7 (3 adults and 4 kids) had an extraordinary day with Muhammad in Tangier! We took the 9 am ferry from Tarifa to Tangier where he greeted us with a very warm welcome. The kids loved him right away as we set off for a day packed full of adventure with caves, camels, markets, walks through the kasbah and medina, a delicious Moroccan lunch. If you are looking for a way to experience the many incredible aspects of Tangier in a well-organized, thoughtful and authentic way, Muhammad is the guide for you. Thank you , for creating such a special memory for our family!
We reserved a day tour to Tangier and took the ferry across from Spain. Our guide was extremely easy to find, as he met us just outside the terminal holding a sign with our name. He grew up in Tangier, so had a lot of insight and knowledge of the area and people. Most important, unlike other personal tours we've done in other parts of the world, he never tried to "corner" us into specific shops to get us to try to buy things we don't want.
Moha met us right when we got off the ferry from Tarifa. We ate, shopped and hung out with the locals. Upon arrival at the dock, he picked us up in a beautiful Mercedes van that comfortable sat me, my wife and two adult kids. his English is perfect! He had a complete grasp of the history, the politics and the Tangier/Morocco culture - it was truly fascinating.
