You’re visiting Spain and thinking about a potential visit to Tangier, but you don’t have that much time to stay, so you’re wondering whether a day trip is worth or not!

Tangier is one of the most beautiful cities in Morocco, its strategic geographical situation with the deep and rich history, authentic culture and remarkable sights makes it a favorite destination for tourists.

Tangier is the closest Moroccan city to Europe with only 9 miles and is linked to the Spanish ports especially Tarifa and Algeciras.

The boats departing from Algeciras serve a port called  Tanger Med located some 25 miles from the city, while the fast ferries from Tarifa take you to the Tangier City Port.

The journey is longer if you take the boat from Algeciras to Tanger Med since there’re no fast ferries serving this harbor as well as the round-trip driving, you’ll need to do from/to the port is a huge waste of time.

We usually recommend that our guests get the ferry from Tarifa, because the crossing takes approximately 1 hour in general, and you’ll be dropped off in a port found in the town.

Normally, from Tarifa there’re ferry departures every hour starting from 8.am, with returns up to 11 p.m., so you have a whole day to discover the beautiful Tangier.

Probably, you’re into a tour that could be self-guided, or you perhaps prefer to look for a guide, you may also opt for a group tour or a private one, so you need to resonate which one is suitable for you.

Actually, it’s better to contact the guide in advance, to avoid any possible incurring hustle & bustle when you get to the town.
